The School of Design and Creative Arts at Loughborough University is third for Art & Design in the UK (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, 2024, The Complete University Guide, 2024).
Our research has significant impact and aims to tackle a huge variety of real-world, global issues. We provide creative, innovative solutions to problems that affect contemporary societies both locally and internationally, through the practical application of our expertise in design and creative arts. We are proud to maintain strong links with existing partners and alumni and are committed to establishing and growing new relationships with businesses nationally and internationally.
We strive to deliver a world-class education in design and creative arts, developing high-quality graduates who are leading practitioners in their field. Our vision is to educate students to become responsive, persuasive innovators of change, able to instigate creative, intelligent responses to a variety of contemporary challenges.
We teach our Design and Graphic Design students the skills to design packaging including, branding and artwork design, 3D design for both carton and plastic packaging, how to improve consumer experience through design and sustainable design practices such as designing for recycling and reuse. Many of our students undertake work placements in packaging design, and we have alumni across the world with successful careers in packaging.
During this in person event you will hear from several of our research and teaching staff on the packaging related work we are undertaking including AI, Designing for Zero Waste and Inclusive Design. You’ll have the opportunity to have a tour of our excellent facilities to better understand how we can support packaging research and innovation.
